My Flock

Arya Jeyne Cockatiel 2.5 years, (that’s me on the left!) and my handsome mate, Thorin Morkenshield, 13 years (front). It’s a May – December romance, and he’s a perfect gentleman! We were both adopted (separately) from the MSPCA at Nevins Farm. I came home because my mom and I formed a special connection at the shelter. Thorin (fka Mork) had lost his mate and was very sad and lonely. As soon as we got together, he cheered up again. Our relationship took a while to develop, but now we’re inseparable!
Felicia the Cockatiel, 7 months, my baby “sister.” She’s a little star and we all love her very much! Felicia was adopted from the MSPCA at Nevins Farm. Felicia was one of 199 animals rescued from a hoarding house. She was only about 10 days old when she was found, and she is a real survivor!
Charlotte Rose, 4 years, our Quaker Parrot in residence. She talks a lot and is a real character! She is our BFF. Charlotte was adopted from a dear human friend who had suffered multiple strokes and needed someone to look after this feisty girl.
Henry, 11 years, a very handsome Moluccan Cockatoo. He’s new to our flock, and is working on growing his feathers in again. He’s super noisy, and has a lovely singing voice! Henry was adopted from the MSPCA in Boston, after having been abandoned outside of a zoo by the humans from his former home.
Westley (in his dish) and his mate, Princess Buttercup (front). Ages not known. Westley gets around great for a guy with only one leg! Buttercup is Felicia the Cockatiel’s mom! They’re super nice and we get along great! Westley and Buttercup were adopted from the MSPCA at Nevins Farm. They were rescued from¬† a hoarding house where 199 animals were being kept in deplorable conditions. We are so glad they are safe, happy and healthy here with us!
Tweedle, 5 years (left), and his mate Kili (right), age unknown. Budgies sure are pests, but in a really nice way, and these two are the cutest couple, ever! Both were adopted from the MSPCA at Nevins Farm. Kili came in with a group of 22 young budgies, and was injured in a fight, by some other female birds. She came home to us to recover and relax. Tweedle arrived a few months later when Kili was mostly healed and began to seem lonely.¬† He’s a small guy, and very gentle, so our humans thought he might make a good friend for Kili. They fell in love at first sight, and it’s been happily ever after for those two!

Over the Rainbow Bridge

Theoden King, sweet Umbrella Cockatoo. Succumbed to illness at 6 years old. Theoden chose my humans at the MSPCA at Nevins Farm. It was true love. We all miss you every day, sweet King.
Felix was one of the baby birds that the MSPCA at Nevins Farm rescued in the hoarding case, along with Felica, Freya and Frodo. Sweet baby Felix, we loved you so much, little one. You will not be forgotten!
Freya (left) and Frodo (right) were two of the babies rescued by the MSPCA at Nevins Farm in the hoarding case with Felicia and Felix. Tiny Freya and Frodo, you left us far too soon, sweet babies. It was our privilege to love you during your short time with us.
